Everyone has heard of it at least once. People either love it, hate it or just think that the myanimelist users are a bunch of nerdy introverts who can’t get a life for themselves. What is myanimelist? In my opinion, my animelist is a site that doesn’t actually have any real use to anyone other than anime fans who want to compare their opinions on animes with others and have a list to show off their extensive knowledge of Japanese animation. But, as my friend would say: “Only someone without brains would spend so much time on collecting useless numbers.” I don’t actually share his opinion about my animelist being useless because I find it interesting how my friends can tell me pretty exactly what my opinions are when it comes to animes.
It’s basically just my own little world with my own set of anime rules where I can go and compare my tastes in anime with others who have the same MAL user name as me. It’s pretty fun stuff actually, especially when you come across a few people that have exactly the same taste in anime as you do. But really… my animelist doesn’t matter all too much because everyone has their own opinion… except for my friend Dave who thinks he knows everything about life but really doesn’t know jack because he doesn’t even bother getting himself an animalist account.
Different Animes makes me Wonder
Looking at my animelist’s stats it says I’ve watched about 363 different animes, my favorite anime is Clannad after Story and my MAL username is the same as my name. It really doesn’t mean anything to anyone else but me, though. People that are on my animelist are all over the place when it comes to age group which makes me wonder why myanimelist even says that they’re all in one single lump sum of 18-24 year olds because there are some old people out there who have accounts for no apparent reason other than bragging rights or something.
Do you know what myanimelist actually means?
You’d be surprised if you knew how many delusional fans actually believe the lies behind myanimelist like my friend Dave. If you don’t know what myanimelist actually is, here’s an explanation: my animelist is basically just a site for bragging rights between anime fans who want to feel like they’re really cool or something because they can watch about 363 different animes… myanimelist makes people feel like they’re better than everyone else just because it says that my animelist has 363 animes on it.
But really my anime list is just a site for bragging rights and nothing more than that, my friend Dave is just delusional if he thinks my animelist actually means anything to anyone other than anime fans who want to compare their opinions on animes with others. Even my friend Dave isn’t as much of a loser as my animemates because at least my friends actually have something going for them in the real world that doesn’t revolve around watching about 363 different animes or whatever number myanimelist claims I’ve watched. That’s all there is to know about myanimelist… a site where almost.

Anime fans can compare their opinions on animes to others and can have a list to show off how much they know about Japanese animation. My animelist is just my little part of the world where my opinions matter… except for my friend Dave who thinks he knows everything about life but really doesn’t know jack. Myanimelist isn’t really that important because everyone has their own opinion, if my friends. Wanted to feel like they’re better than other people then they wouldn’t even bother getting an animelist account in the first place.
