My 2004 DNC Experience: Part I
By admin | August 25, 2008
What seemed like many years ago today, I rallied around the Democrat cause, volunteered out of the local Democrat office. Upon news of the DNC coming to Boston, I jumped on it. Soon I would find myself in some strange circumstances at the DNC.
To start with, on first day I didn’t do much. In fact, I’m not sure what I did. I know that we (a group of volunteers) walked to someplace where we were supposed to be and handed out buttons, or stickers, or something. Not much of an experience and knowing that I was to be there another day (even taking work off for it), I wasn’t very thrilled. I mean, a highlight of this whole experience would’ve been to actually get inside, and to listen to eloquent, articulate, or even belicouse speeches. So I would have to grind through to the next day in the hopes that I could hear Democrat Nominee John Kerry speak.
The next day I showed up and was instructed to go with another group to the end of town where the convention was being held, The TD BankNorth Garden, or as we Bostonians like to call it, “The Gahrden”. I was to help make sure that no one would use a strip of sidewalk that gave instant access to the Garden. Call me crazy, but I would’ve thought they’d have real professionals doing this, not a political volunteer. Luckily, there was a cop nearby that noticed what was going on and offered to help keep the crowd from this particular sidewalk.
And wouldn’t you know, like the scene out of a very bad movie, comes Triumph, The Insult Comic Dog and his puppet master, who reeked of booze. I just remember that guy getting in face along with the camera, just thinking to myself, “when is my freakin’ shift over with”.
While volunteering, I was able to “pal up” with some people and we kinda helped eachother along. One older woman was even able to get her and I a pass to get inside. Our shift was over around the time Kerry was to speak, so it was perfect timing. I mean, the whole atmosphere around where we were was electric. Between Triumph and protesters and just the general excitement of the moment, I was very excited now to be going inside the convention hall.
When we were relieved by the next volunteer group, me and my new pals raced over to McDonalds to grab something quick to eat. We then proceeded to make our way inside the Garden. Of course security was tight. Men had machine guns. Secret Service was everywhere. You had the feeling as if you were just about to be shown something special.
As we stepped through the turnstyes, is when we first noticed this was anything but going to be a regular night…floods of people were coming downstairs from the bleacher seats (nose bleed seats) and no one was being allowed upstairs.
Part II tomorrow

Obama and McCain answering to Pastor Warren: Sham
By admin | August 16, 2008
In case you just watched the Obama and McCain “discussions” on television tonight, I hope you came away with the same conclusion I did…it was a sham.
For one, Obama spoke first, ostensibly because the coin toss dictated? What was it, a one sided coin?
Secondly, McCain cheated, yes that’s right, slept with another woman, dumped her, divorced her, and married a rich woman. Sleaze bag, in the strongest sense of the word, and not very Christen. For all the right wing idiots that spoke of non-presidential nominee John Edwards and his failings, Teflon John just couldn’t be touched. Surely this should of happened in a house of God.
Thirdly, Darfur. Funny how the two candidates brought this up. But how sad it is to here them use it. For starters, McCain opposed saving hundreds of thousands of people, but said, in a church(!) that we should save them. God save you McCain, because you are an afront to the teachings of the bible, and therefore, a heritic. Also though, “Pastor” Rick Warren, when speaking about the current Georgian confict, failed to inform viewers that McCain is a less than credible supporter of democracy, as he has been bought, yes bought by Georgia through his “foreign policy adviser” (i.e. a shill for anyone that will pay him money). His foreign policy adviser has accepted in the last few years over $200,000 from them to advocate for acceptance into NATO. Straight talk? Talk about being bought off by a nation, you traitor.
‘Cause the neocons know, that given an open forum, in a debate situation where one actually has to defend their views, Obama stands head and shoulders over the crusted-over panderer John McCain.
To finish, how does Rick Warren, so called “Pastor” but more like a kiss ass, get to hold a nationaly televised “town hall”? He is neither a journalist or bipartisan. He is not capable of without slant in hosting such an event.
I feel sad for America if this is the start a religous litmus test. I remember at one point, speaking of the good deeds done by religous organizations, that it was said by the “pastor” the government should give out money to those organizations even thought they don’t abide by federal hiring laws. Talking about serving one’s own business purposes! Think about it, if that was the case, discrimination would again be federaly sponsored and the seperation of church and state would become even blurrier.
Obama is the obviously the one that can save us from such a scenario.

China and Mike Phelps: his first gold medal
By admin | August 9, 2008
Unexplainably, at least by Chinese standards, Michael Phelps had his dream cut short by Communist China, when what was probably the most satisfying, exhilirating, and life fullfilling moment of Michael Phelps life, the Chinesse cut short the American anthem, just before the point of “…home of the free”.
Now why him and no one else? Fairly simple…he is the most media-friendly, popular American athlete. More cameras were focused on him than any other athlete. China…EFF U!!! How dare you! I am rarely one to be so vehiment in such discussions, but this is unexplainable. Even the athletes had no explaination. From here on…I will expose China for what they really are…autocratic, authoriatarian despots. No amount of slave labor, no amount of exploitable materials, no amount of threatening, will I relent. It was a black eye on the 2008 Olympics. Go ahead China, try. Eff you and your Communist subjegates. There is no further discussion needed. What was done today was disgusting and beyond the dictate of the Olympics. Now you will soon reap what you have sown. Commnist China can stand no longer.
